You won't get the achievement if you purchase the dress from the AH either; I just tried out of sheer curiosity. Don't waste your money! (Many people on my server have apparently not figured this out; the dresses range anywhere from 20-80g in the AH, and there's a TON of them, so there must be a market.)

Just curious, but why is the achievement only for the dress? I mean, it should be the suit if you are male and dress if you are female. Or even better (as I have nothing against either sex wanting the opposite), leaving it up to the player to get either the black dress or black suit to get the achievement.
