I did most of my archeology in Zandalar and I think that Vol'dun is the easiest location to skill up your archeology due to the fact that Vol'dun is quite flat and has a fairly open landscape. Nazmir has some digsites that are located near or at the same spots as decently strong elites.
In Kul Tiras I think that Stormsong Valley is the easiest area to level up archeology especially if you have turned off War Mode.
In general archeology seems a bit more time consuming and tideous in BFA compared to other expansions. From ~910 to 950 skill you get about 1 skill in every 1-2 digsites that you complete. At times it took me ~4 dig sites to level up 1 skill.
The last 20-30 skill ups definitely took some time. When I finished this achievement I was at 58 completed digsites, 6/6 rares, 7/12 pristines, 42 Drust solves, and 31 Zandalari solves.
