The first boss of Rank 9 at the Brawler's Guild, added in patch 5.3.

Big Badda Boom has only a weak melee attack. After you damage him some, he will explode and split into two slight less big Badda Booms; this explosion hurts a bit more than the melee. As you damage the two new mobs, they too will explode and split into two more Badda Booms.

This continues several times until you end up facing a whole bunch of very tiny bombs. To meet the DPS requirement you will have to AoE, but AoEing down the bombs causes the explosions to all go off at once and thus hurt quite a bit. Be careful!

I think i can help with those thinking it's bugged. I just encountered the same problem several times and was whispered by a fellow brawler that I was doing it wrong and to try the following:

DPS Big Badda Boom until split.
Kill ONLY Badda Booms without killing any Bitta Booms
Kill ONLY Bitta Booms without killing any Itta Bitta Booms
Nuke the Itta Bitta Booms.
Win.

Apparently Mobs of the same type must all die before killing ANY of the subsequent mob types.

This worked perfectly for me.

Good Luck!
