I found this fight difficult as a balance druid with ilevel 410 gear. After 2-3 play sessions of failing on this boss, I even gave it a break for a few weeks, thinking to wait until a later patch and better gear. I came back again, though, and two sessions later downed it.
Here are some tips and tricks from my final attempt. There are a lot of balance-specific tricks here, but the general ideas should apply to any spec.
In general, this fight does not have a gimmick. Rather, you have to do a lot of things well, much like in a well-tuned raid fight. You have to limit damage intake with mobility and cooldowns, use all your self heal options, and max your outgoing damage despite all the chaos going on.
On most of my attempts, I died before hitting berserk. Here are some tricks to limit damage intake without hurting your dups too much:
- Typhoon is terrific on this fight. You can typhoon the small gulls to keep them off of you, and they'll do zero damage to you until they finish their slow crawl back to you again. If you sunfire and typhoon, and back up a little when casting instant spells, they'll be low on health by the time they get back to you.
- Treants are also good. Just like with typhoon, cast sunfire and then treants. The small gulls will be dead or almost dead by the time the treants fade.
- Use barkskin when you're being hit by adds. I mash that button a lot and so don't remember specifically, but I expect the best time is after typhooning the small gulls and when they get back to you again.
- The mecha-trees hurt! If you see the mecha-gull start to summon a mecha-tree, stop your own cast and MOVE.
- Wild Charge makes you jump backwards if you're in moonkin form. That's a really helpful button, in theory, for getting away from a mecha-tree with a minimum of wasted time. In practice, I found it a little tricky to use it well, so I only used it on the first mecha-tree. You have to make sure space is clear behind you, and you have to be comfortable playing with a wall on your back and some crazy camera angles. Probably a better gamer can get more out of Wild Charge than I did; it seems terrific in theory.
- Guardian affinity will give you basically an extra life for the fight via Frenzied Regeneration. Save it until your health is low, pop it, and then pop back to moonkin form to keep nuking.
- Personally, I have an excellent healing trinket, so I used that trinket on my kill attempt. I think I'd have been fine without it, though, since on my kill attempt, I ended up not using Frenzied Regeneration.
- Be sure to use a brawler's healing potion. They're very cheap, and they give you a real boost to longevity.
The fight also needs good damage output. I tried resto spec and just didn't have the damage. Here are a few tricks for beating the berserk timer:
- Don't attack the large bees. You can kite them for the entire fight.
- For the small gulls, use sunfire on them, but nothing else. Don't moonfire them directly. Don't use starfall. Starfall is a trap even for true AOE fights, but on this fight, you really want to focus the boss and let the adds die to cleave.
- Use the brawler's intellect potion. They're just 20g and really add to your damage.
Good luck. This one was the wall for me for a while.

If you're hunter, go BM with spirit beast for lots of healing and to misdirect on pet whenever small seagulls spawn.
Any advices for SP on this bird. Bit stuck on it.
