got 2 of these in an hour farming the trolls at the troll temple in EPL

i got two of these plans too...i got one after 5 kills and the next day after about 3 kills....i tried again but no luck...i had a guildy make me one...its awesome looking!!!

I spent a total of 8 hrs yesterday farming this with a guildie and it never dropped. Very disappointed, but i won't give up, i'll go ahead tonight. 1 good thing is this place is not farmed on my server and the chest spawns every 5 mins as well as the rich thorium vein, so a good money making place for any high level. In 8hrs i netted approx 250g on all my sells of my loot. 3 times i had to go to AH to sell all my loot, highest sale was all the runecloth's & thorium bars and the jem's from the veins. I have 10 arcane crystals from the mining i did, that alone is my arcanite bar's i'll need for the mats. Not sure if it is still lootable but 8hrs, damn! wish it would drop edit: 4'th day of farming it dropped 5 times in 2hrs, very strange drop rate

I finally got this schematic after days of on and off again farming for 2-3 hours each. Excellent place to farm, at least is is on my server. Rich thorium veins spawn nearby, as well as an herb node or two. There's a solid chest that spawns every 20-30 minutes or so which can yield some good loot, as well as two rare spawn points. That, combined with all the runecloth and other stuff you get makes it a nice place to grind when you're already here for the schematic. Oddly, I actually got an epic, Destiny, long before I got the schematic, but that's RNG for you I suppose...

The temple of Zul'Mashar has several Shadowhunters that spawn at set points on each of the temples tiers. These seem to respawn faster than the Shadowhunters found throughout the rest of the area. Your speed at getting this schematic is totally up to the RNG, so if you don't get it right away, keep trying.

Drops in 4.0.3, took about 1000 kills.

The fun thing is after 2 days of farming i got distracted thinking about cata heroics and after a while I read in chat that I looted it :D

What might help is... the channeling Shadowhunters on top of the altar always respawn as shadowhunters, all the other mobs spawn randomly as Scouts, Shadowhunters or Cannibal so your best bet is to kill everything if you're lvl 80.

The date on this comment indicates it was made before the Shattering (4.0.3a). That, combined with the absurdly low reported drop rate at the moment (6 in ~100000), suggests that this item is currently bugged and does not drop.

Considering the level of these mobs was dropped about 10 levels in the Shattering, I seriously doubt whether this recipe is still in their loot tables. It might have migrated to drop off something else, but it doesn't make sense for a level 56 recipe to be dropping off a level 42-43 mob. However, given the pathetically low drop rate, it's going to be hard to know for certain.

After having killed 4000+ Shadowhunters and hunted both the Alliance and Horde Auction House for this for the past week, I am fairly certain this no longer drops.

According to the mob info, the drop rate is, as of this posting, 4 out of 21,251... Which is well over 5,000 kills per drop. I believe that it does probably still drop, as Tamika stated above.

Previously the drop rate was far higher - the % chance to drop has gone from 1 in 250 to 1 in 5000.

With a drop rate of 0.01%, the probability of getting one from 4000 kills is pretty much 33% (1-0.9999^4000), so let's not even discuss the odds of some random guy questing in EPL happening upon one, deciding it's worth looting, deciding to not use it himself or give to a friend or just vendor, but instead putting it on the AH... where, to boot, there's always a chance someone beats you to it. I'm equally impressed and scared by your persistence though... it makes me wonder if I should keep trying myself :(

2000 + kill no drop in 4.3 :(

Thinking the same thing, have killed well over 4000 shadowhunters myself, which has taken days and several hours at a time. I am now also beginning to think that this schematic has been removed from the drop files, which would not surprise me in the least. I just wish blizzard woulkd let people know whats been removed completly so as to save us wasting our time trying to grind on something that no longer exists as a drop.

Argghhh according to some posts on teh US forums (through trying to google this), i read that it was un-intentionally removed :( maybe it will be readded at some point (and maybe not)

Well after spending several hours farming this with no success I contacted a GM and asked if it was still in game. I was told although they can't give actuall drop rates it was still in the game from those mobs with (and I quote) "a very, very, very, very low drop rate". So it does seem the wowhead data is correct. I am guessing this change was unintentional due to the zones changes in cata as there seems to be no sane reason why they would nerf the drop rate so dramatically.

I asked a GM today to look up the loot tables for this and several other very rare drops. His reply: Flawless Arcanite Rifle: nothing found Heavy Scorpid Gauntlets: should be lootable Heavy Scorpid Leggings: nothing found Black Silk Pack: should be lootable Now we know that GMs are not 100% reliable, but given the already abysmally low drop rates on these recipes, I'm going to pass on the rifle and leggings until someone posts that they've found one recently. So if you (or anyone reliable you know) DOES fnd either of those recipes, PLEASE have them post it here. I have a stack of DVDs and chips and cold drinks (and a catheter) waiting for my next marathon farming session... (crossposting to the other 3 recipe threads mentioned)

I would also love to know if anyone has seen this drop lately. I've been farming this for quite awhile and still no drops. In my addon with Ackis recipe list it still shows its lootable. I just dont understand why this is such a rare drop. But I'm gonna keep farming this recipe until I see its not lootable anymore. From Area 52 horde side, Garetjaxx

Most of the GM's actually look at wowhead nowadays anyways so anything they info they provide can be found by regular people.

No sign of this on the Undermine Journal, and yet wowhead does show a small handful of loots. Either this is an incredibly rare drop, the drop is somehow bugged or it has been removed. In any case I'd say don't bother trying to farm it. No matter how much it burns seeing it in ARL...

This is as of 4.3.4 (2 days before 5.0.4 is to drop). I opened a ticket and GM Trelladon informed me that they (the GM/CS group) have a bug report open to the development team regarding this item, to try to confirm whether it is a valid item any more. S/he had no ETA on when we might find out for sure, or if it would show up in the patch notes when it was fixed (experience says: no, it won't). For now I'm settling for the [url=http://www.wowhead.com/item=65997/tribute-gun]Tribute Gun[/url] for my mog set. Hope this helps.

As of patch 5.1a (and this post date) this item is still confirmed as bugged from dropping by GM Velandiis. No ETA, but they are "investigating".

My add on that I use Ackis Recipe List as of today shows this recipe no longer in game. I guess I wasted my time with countless hours trying to farm this recipe.

Seems you had a question about the availability of Schematic: Flawless Arcanite Rifle.

To be entirely honest with you, this is not something a Game Master is going to know any more about than what is stated on fansites such as Wowhead. I looked for you and it's not listed as unavailable - items that have been officially retired will say something to the effect of "no longer obtainable by players" in red on the Wowhead page - but that does not necessarily mean that it is still dropping. The truth is, we just don't know.

Only the developers know things like true droprates, and they are not eager to share this information with the public as that would be considered a game hint. Not even Game Masters have access to this information.

About 2 hours ago on my realm, Suramar I was searching the AH & looking for missing recipes which are hard for me to come by. Was checking engineering & I see this recipe show up for the first time that I've seen in a while, went to TUJ to see what other realms have it. Only 3 total the one on my real had not shown up. Good news everyone. Since the reagent list has been updated to include Shadowland Relic of the past reagen, this schematic is "most likely" back in some "hard to get but not nearly impossible" loot table. That is just a speculation, but why would you adapt this one to shadowland craft if you don't make it lootable again.

Nah, don't be optimistic in regards to Blizzard's errors. My assumption is that this craft belongs to a category of crafts that was deemed eligible for stat-scaling with Optional Reagents, and the devs did not checked whether or not the recipes for the crafts are obtainable from first hand sources.

So where does this actually drop? Or where it used to drop? Can't find such information anywhere, only comments about removal, unknown replies from GM and what not.

This would drop off a Mossflayer Shadowhunter in Eastern Plaguelands at a measly 1.1% drop rate.

According to the Undermine Journal, this recipe is currently more scarce than the original BOE Thistle Tea recipe.
