This quest is straight-up broken for anyone who has even set foot in DF content. None of the mobs count towards the progression.
As of dragonflight can no longer do these as lvl 70, no quest credit for killing the mobs. Please report in-game bug
If u dont get progress for killing the mobs, because you are level 70 or above 60 you just need a friend or an alt. While on ur main (with the one u wanna progress) just create a party with a friend and activate party sync. With party sync the progress/ the Quest works again. Worked for me and hope it works for u too
