Behind the Masks is a quest for level 10-35 in The Jade Forest. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 4,800 experience and money.
The sha may seem unstoppable, but this is not true.
Their masks seem to be the source of their power. When a sha and its mask are separated, the creature's essence is banished back to its own realm.
Bring me intact masks, for I wish to study them further. Do be careful. I'm sure the sha will not part with them easily.

Do NOT do this quest in front of the temple. The loot option hardly shows up. Do it on the other placees, further away, and you won't get as frustrated as I got.
Looting the [item=77419] needed for the quest gives you a 30 minute debuff called, appropriately, Mask of Doubt. Visually all that it seems to do is make you glow purple, however I was both in cat form and wearing a Hallow's End mask at the time, so it's possible that you're supposed to be wearing an actual mask and mine just bugged. Additionally, the debuff causes your character to start whispering you with his or her "doubts".
Some that I've seen:
Why do I always feel so alone? Is it because...I'm alone?
What are people saying about me?
Does this armor look a little tight on me?
Of course my worst fears are going to come true.
Nothing is ever going to change.
Everyone around me only pretends to like me.
I keep hearing voices in my head. Should I be worried?Turning the quest in removes the debuff as the questgiver blesses you, and you gain Fortitude (10% stam).
My huge, ugly as hell Tauren Shaman says: Does this armor look a little tight on me?
Me: No sweetheart, you look as beautiful as ever.
