You can click the bell more than once in a fight, but there's a cooldown on it during which it won't be clickable. Should be very easy to survive for that time though.

The first time I did this, I had no clue about the bell... I came upon him around 8M health and wondered how the frak am I going to deal with such a health pool? Then I noticed slowly, but surely his health kept going down, it seemed he was taking damage from the ramparts. I waited until he had under 2M and went to town on his butt. Today, I was doing my patient things again and someone ran in, went to the bell and got him down before I could even muster a cast! THAT gave me the right clue... waited for the respawn, flew around and rang the bell then went to town on his butt.
Cooldown on the bell is short -- maybe 30 seconds. Two clicks should be enough to take him down with decent DPS. The Shadow does not hit very hard.

A terrible manifestation of the sha has appeared to the south. It is trying to destroy an ancient relic, the Bell of a Thousand Whispers. This bell has never been rung in the temple's history, for it is rumored to be an ancient instrument of power. Please go and defeat this demon where it stands! We must save this relic!
