Before patch 4.3 the text upon completing the quest was as follows:
It saddens me to see that things have come to this. If only we could return our great empire to what it once was...Interesting that they chose to change it now; with Mists of Pandaria next on the list, it may be quite a long time before the nerubians' rebuilding pays off.
Did this on Time-walking, quest turn in is no longer at the entrance even though there's a ? there.

Description
Throughout Azjol-Nerub, the scourged nerubians carefully nurture eggs that will soon hatch, providing them nerubian young to slaughter and raise. The eggs have been tainted with foul magics. Our only recourse is to dispose of them.

Azjol-Nerub was an empire of great strength when the Lich King arrived in Northrend. Despite ferocious resistance, however, Scourge forces managed to overtake the subterranean kingdom and slaughter its inhabitants, the nerubians. Scarred by years of war and abandonment, this vast domain is now occupied on two fronts.
