Dragon Isles Supplies (The Waking Shores)

Im starting to wonder if [item=202081] only drops once per account, thus making this quest once per account .

1. 
   
2. Prequest: Loot [item=202081] from [npc=190056] and complete item quest Funding a Treasure Hunt
   It never dropped for me during lvling, but always dropped from 1-st NPC when i got there at max lv
   So you buy [item=198854] from [npc=189226] and find the first treasure [object=381045] - it is intro treasure, and you get 1-st map for free
3. 
   
4. Search and loot all the random treasure chests you can find
   
   • 
     
   • [object=376587] renown 2 with [faction=2507]
   • 
     
   • [object=383735] renown 5 with [faction=2507] and will need to buy [item=191294] (buy/craft alot, you will always want to have them in your bags)
   • 
     
   • [object=376426] renown 16 with [faction=2507]
   • 
     
   They spawn all over the Dragon Isles and have similar loot, just a little bit different mechanics and unlock at certain reputation with [faction=2507].
   And i think that every chest in every zone can drop all 9 maps in random order

6. You can get 6 maps before Renown lvl 21 with [faction=2507] and 5 more after.
   2 maps are from intro quests and 9 are from random treasure chests drop
7. 
   
8. Hard part is to loot the map from random treasure chest and the rest is easy.
   Use the map and it will highlight the location of the treasure
   Treasure icon will be visible when you enter the subzone (Waking Shores, Azure Span , so on)
   Loot the treasure and get the reward

You get 1-st cluster inside the treasure
And you probably want it to be on you main or alt with Jewelcrafting profession
Because you can use all clusters only 1) to craft Jewelcrafting pet 2) to buy a transmog

As of April 16, 2023, for anyone still having trouble finding maps, you may be having the same issue I was having, which no one else seems to have mentioned.

TLDR: Ensure that the character that originally looted [item=202081] has reached Dragonscale Expedition Renown 21.

You can check if the quest was completed on a specific character by running this script:

The Rest: I swapped mains early on in the expansion, I started off as a Demon Hunter, then ended up switching to Evoker midway through Normal Vault of the Incarnates. Fast forward a few months and I'd been max renown on my Evoker for a long time, had looted hundreds and hundreds of dirt piles and expedition packs and had never seen a single map drop. Then I learned that [item=202081] is only usable once per account, but the effects of looting maps are supposed to be account-wide, so there isn't supposed to be a problem.

However, my Evoker had never completed it, my old Demon Hunter had. So I decided to test out a theory and levelled my Demon Hunters Dragonscale Expedition Renown to 21. Immediately after reaching Renown 21 on my Demon Hunter, I swapped to my Evoker and 2 Chests, 2 Packs and 13 Dirts later, I looted [item=198843] from a [object=383735] in Ohn'ahran Plains.
