Distilled Effort is a quest for level 10-70 in The Waking Shores. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 11,900 experience and money.
The Orb of Primal Stone is a fortuitous find, but Acadia and Tae'shara have conflicting hypotheses regarding the barrier.
I have my own hypothesis. Perhaps with more elemental orbs an answer will become clear.
One of the explorers saw an oversized water elemental in a nearby cave. Defeat the elemental, and perhaps you will find another orb.

In the cave under the bottom waterfall just past Zikkori.
70.87, 56.75 is where you can find the cave entrance at the bottom of a waterfall.
A fun tidbit in this cave, if you look to the Glittery Streams that are casting a waterblast at the wall, you can see cave paintings. There's one to the left of Acequian and two more further behind him. They appear to depict a war between the dragons and presumably the Djaradin who you run into earlier when questing within The Waking Shores.
The Orb of Primal Waves is looted from Acequian. He is in a cave at the bottom of the waterfalls. The cave entrance is at 70.94, 56.73, and Acequian is at 72.23, 56.73. If you get stuck, you can use the coords below, or look for Zikkori near the entrance who offers another quest, Drainage Solutions which is completed in the same cave.
/way 69.89, 57.94 Path to Cave
/way 70.50, 56.84 Zikkori
/way 70.94, 56.73 Cave Entrance
/way 72.19, 56.70 Acequian

The earth elementals are not just trying to repel us, they're destroying artifacts and equipment, too! It's as though they've been programmed to destroy anything titan... We're holding them off, but we can't continue to study this site while they're here.
I've worked with many elementals as a shaman, but I've never seen any this aggressive! The Expedition discovered a titan vault here, but a barrier protects the inner chamber. When we tried to dispel the barrier, I think we triggered some kind of security system...
Taken from a quest that requires this one.
We now have four elemental orbs! Let us see which hypothesis proves fruitful.
Steps, storylines and map placement from the client’s QuestLine, prerequisite and QuestPOI data; neighbouring quest text is Blizzard’s own (quest API), shortened to its opening sentences.
