Feral Shadehound

Ok, since it's not mentioned ANYWHERE, when you get this quest, you are presented with a row of button. The [item=185056] has a list of what order to press the buttons. I'm not sure why none of the other how-to's mention this, but this should help since blizz also offers no help in the game on what to do.

You also can't open the item while mounted, so you either have to screenshot it or snap a pic with your phone OR just have a really good memory.

How to get the [item=184168] mount

Pre-requisites: Be Appreciated by [npc=162804], have 3,500 [currency=1767], have learned [item=184653]. Helpful: Words of Warding is active because of [item=182303]

1. 
   
2. Buy [item=184870] for 1,500 [currency=1767]
3. 
   
4. Go to Domination Keep in Perdition Hold (approx at 23.0, 68.4), and grapple up 1 level. Go to the left, and go up the stairs to a second hook at about 24.0, 75.5.

6. Use your extra action button and solve the Rune Puzzle to get [item=185056] by making the runes above the chest match the runes on the spikes. Spike #1 was to your left grappling up and goes clockwise. You have limited attempts before being locked out for two hours. If this happens, use the time to farm

8. Return to [npc=162804] and buy [item=185350] for 2,000 [currency=1767].

10. Retrieve [item=185351] from the cave in the Beast Warrens located at 48.8, 84.7. The page is in the back left.

12. Retrieve [item=185352] from Perdition Hold located at 27.2, 72.3.

14. Retrieve [item=185353] from Tremaculum at 24.6,12.67. The teleport up is at 27.6,17.3.

16. Read all the pages by clicking on them to get [item=185632]

18. Pet [npc=177195] in the River of souls to get [item=185471]. Go against the current and you'll eventually find him.

20. Kill the rare [npc=166398] to get [item=185473]

22. Spend the next 2 - 8 hours of your life farming 200 [item=185618] and 200 [item=185617]. The [item=184870] will allow you to see Stygia Nexus on the minimap. On the ground these look like glowing green orbs. Stand next to one and click on the [item=184870]. Only one person can tap a nexus at a time. I recommend not going over eye 2 for this.

24. Celebrate the end of grinding

26. Go to [npc=177392] (located at the very top of Domination Keep at 20.2,67.0-You will need to grapple hook up the side) to create 20 [item=185630]

28. Create [item=185474] by combining 20 [item=185630] with [item=185473]

30. Optional: Take the Chaotic Rift to get down (it takes you to Zovaal's Cauldron)

32. Go to the Binding alter at 45.2,48.2 to combine [item=185474] with [item=185471] to get [item=185475]

34. Read [item=185056] to get the rune order

36. Use [item=185475] to get start Feral Shadehound which starts the binding ritual

38. Run [item=185475] into a cage or pillar to not have to bother with mob agro while you punch in the correct rune order.

40. This completes Feral Shadehound which gives [item=184168]

A quick note on farming. When Words of Warding is active, as long as you don't turn it in, you can cloak easily in Perdition Hold, which makes Perdition Hold ideal for farming [item=185618] and [item=185617]. It also makes it easier to get [item=185352] as well as get to Go to [npc=177392].

Another thing I noticed is that when you collect resources from one stygia nexus, another one seems to spawn almost instantly. I think there are two active nexus in each particular sub-zone of the maw. This is why camping a spot doesn't seem to work as the nexus are random. HOWEVER, I think some more more common spawn locations than others. If you are having trouble finding one, I'd check the more rare spots, which for Perdition Hold is at the very very top of Dominion Keep as well as the very southern part where your [item=182303] will fall off.
