Futile Pride

Futile Pride is a Horde-only quest for level 15-30 in Blasted Lands. It is step 23 of 56 in the Blasted Lands storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Blasted Lands at 40.4, 11.8. It rewards 1 reputation reward, 2,050 experience and money.

Description

This is actually an old orc city... one of the oldest on Azeroth. That is, it was until the ogres pushed us out.

Today's Horde refuses to be pushed over by ogres. My troops and I took the town back by force, and the ogres who once lived here now work as my servants. Now, our real work begins.

You look strong enough, but I'd like to see some proof. Kill one of the ogres that still besiege us, and return to me.

This "old orc city" that he mentions is most probably Rockard, the twin city of nearby Stonard, which together were two of the first orc settlements in Azeroth that were established after they came through the Dark Portal from Draenor.

Make sure you go right outside the gate - still technically within Dreadmaul Hold, but far enough out that the Okril'lon defenders don't come & help you kill your ambusher, or you won't get the credit for the kill. I killed about half a dozen within the gates, with no credit for it, because they kept defending me too well. LOL

Hero, listen well. First, we must travel to the Deathly Usher, who waits at the northern foot of the Rise of the Defiler, to our northwest. The usher will take us to the top of the rise. Once there, you will help me defeat Razelikh, for I fear I am not strong enough to defeat him alone.

  • HeartstrikeBlasted Lands · Level 15-30

We don't have any hope of taking the Nethergarde Mines from the Alliance... at least not yet. Nethergarde is well-defended, and their supply routes are established and strong. Our goal, then, is to damage their economy.
