If you have waited for a few days before completing this quest, then you may not be able to turn it in as there is nothing for you to click to place the items. When that happens, check back every day until you meet the right daily rotation and the icons appear for you to click to place the items.

Okay, have collected the three items needed but there's nowhere to put them, so can't complete quest. Any suggestions ?

Don't know if accepting quest one day and not collecting necessary items till next day could have anything to do with it.
