I used at level 25 my Boneshard (1, 1, 3), Ikky (1, 1, 1) and a filler pet.

However with today's glitches after patching I had this fail even after I won the pet battle. I had to fly out of the area and back in for it to complete.
Using Level 1 Elementals works well. This works especially well if you use elemental pets that have an elemental ability for their first ability (such as Sinister Squashling, Phoenix Hatchling or Soul of the Forge).
By using Level 1 pets you will limit your opponent to only using 1 spell. By using Elemental pets with an elemental ability you will hit the opponent strongly, while their hits will be weak.
