The absolute best strategy to defeat all pets, if you don't have a large roster or are new to pet battles, is to use an entire team of level one pets, as these pet world quests scale with your pet's level. When the pet is scaled to your level at level one, it loses most of its abilities and difficulty.

Was able to solo with [npc=86447].
[pet-ability=919], [pet-ability=581], and just wait for it to end. Ikky did die in the last round, so it's possible he could die earlier depending on how much damage you get dealt. I had another flying pet as back-up; probably any would be able to do the job since Jawbone would be quite low at that point.
Easily soloed with [npc=68845] 2,2,2. Had [npc=97205] 2,2,2 (Identical to Nexus whelpling) as a backup.
[pet-ability=489]
[pet-ability=589]If Nexus Whelpling dies before Jawbone, use the Stormborne to finish him off.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
Objective areaIn-game waypoint: /way #1533 36.4 31.5
/way #1533 36.4 31.5Map coordinates of the pins above. An area the client draws as a shape is given by the centre of its points.
Quests whose map markers the client places closest to this one on Bastion, nearest first. Distances are straight lines between the markers.
Flight points closest to the quest’s first objective area marker on Bastion:
Straight-line distances in yards between the quest’s own map markers (QuestPOI) and the client’s flight-point positions (TaxiNodes); flight paths and terrain are not modelled.
Creature, object and item facts from the current retail client; “also asked for by” lists other quests whose objectives name the same target. Prices are the US commodity auction house’s lowest listed price.
First seen in build 12.0.7.68887 (Midnight patch 12.0.7, the oldest build in our datamine).
Steps, storylines and map placement from the client’s QuestLine, prerequisite and QuestPOI data; neighbouring quest text is Blizzard’s own (quest API), shortened to its opening sentences.
Completing this quest counts toward this achievement.
