TheWoWDBSo, a little odd, when you activate him, you need to go around the mountain to the right. He will follow you all the way there, if you mount up, he won't stop and you won't need to reactivate him. Until you get him to his base, then you reactivate him and complete the quest. I tried going around to the left and he de-spawned every time just a few feet away from where I found him.
He also helps fight, not sure how much good he does, but after the fight, you'll have to reactivate him as well.
