I noticed that I was getting phased out of the Abyssal Pool for some reason and all of the Clams were vanishing. After I completed the quest What Will It Lure? it phased me back in properly.

If you're having trouble finding the clams , just go ahead and complete "what will it lure?" quest , hand it in back in newhome and return to the area , you'll be able to see the clams.
This is a pretty annoying bug. But all you have to do is abandon the chum quest, do the clam quest and then accept and do the chum quest afterwards (You'll still have the chum for the quest in your bags).

What to do
Description
This pool is filled with creepy fish. It is also the home of some of the most delicious clams you will ever eat. Fresh water somehow mixes into the ocean water in this one part of Nazjatar, and that gives the meat a totally new flavor. Every now and then, we come down here and collect them for our friends in Newhome. We could sure use some help with all these extra mouths to feed!

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
