I completed this quest at level 80, and the Timberling I summoned from the reward was also 80. And trust me, it is more than enough to "protect you" in that zone.
nope tried it today and it disappears after the first summoning...

Description
I have removed that foul moss from the heart, but it remains tainted... Try placing the heart in my planter. It is filled with a nutritive soil that may cleanse and heal the heart.
