Just contacted GM, this world quest is current bugged.
If you are having trouble completing this quest, try clearing all the caves, even if they don't have loot inside. There are five caves that can be looked at, and they are listed as a hidden quest objective. If you can't get the crates to "trigger" in the rooms that you need, killing a group of mobs in one of the caves should give you a line that says something to the effect of "you haven't found anything in this cave, keep looking". To be on the safe side, I would just clear each cave as you come to it.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

TheWoWDB/way #942 81.4 53.7Map coordinates of the pins above. An area the client draws as a shape is given by the centre of its points.
Quests whose map markers the client places closest to this one on Stormsong Valley, nearest first. Distances are straight lines between the markers.
Flight points closest to the quest’s first objective area marker on Stormsong Valley:
Straight-line distances in yards between the quest’s own map markers (QuestPOI) and the client’s flight-point positions (TaxiNodes); flight paths and terrain are not modelled.
First seen in build 12.0.7.68887 (Midnight patch 12.0.7, the oldest build in our datamine).
Steps, storylines and map placement from the client’s QuestLine, prerequisite and QuestPOI data; neighbouring quest text is Blizzard’s own (quest API), shortened to its opening sentences.
Completing this quest counts toward this achievement.
