Initially, the mobs I killed were not giving credit for this quest. I found that shooting creatures with turrets was able to give me some credit, but then the mobs would instantly heal to full and I didn't get credit anymore. After this point, I was able to just run around and kill creatures outside void turrets for credit. If that doesn't work, another thing you can try is have a buddy hit them with the turret, and then you keep them engaged so their health doesn't regenerate to 100% (this is what I actually did second before I realized I was getting credit for all kills)
