Quest Log

One Cruel Implement

One Cruel Implement is a quest for level 90 in Voidstorm. It is step 5 of 8 in the A More Potent Foe storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Voidstorm at 53.2, 70.4. It rewards 13,700 experience and money.

Description

Voidstorm is a world of apex creatures. One in particular, the ultradon, stands above others in its strength and ferocity.

But make no mistake, <name>. We demon hunters are the true apex predators wherever we go, because we are willing to go to any length in order to dominate. I see no better creature to harvest an implement in which to inscribe Leona's tattoos.

Head to Nexus-Point Antius with Leona. Defeat as many ultradons as it takes to find the perfect implement.

I saw the red flag the moment I read the quest text stating "Defeat as many Ultradons as it takes to find the perfect implement."

Little did I know, that'd it'd take roughly 30+ kills to get.

Who designs this and goes "Yeah... This seems like fun. They'll love flying around in circles killing the same mobs over and over and over again until it finally drops."
If I wanted to play Classic, I'd go play classic.

This is one Cruely Implemented Quest.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Mark of SacrificeVoidstorm · Level 90

The tattoos that mark our flesh are more than just ink. They're a promise inscribed across our flesh. The promise that we will hold back the dark and the infernal with our very bodies. That our lifeblood is a currency used to purchase Azeroth's future. Surprised?

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Dark InfusionVoidstorm · Level 90

The branding ritual we're about to perform is adapted from what demon hunters go through on the Fel Hammer. But given Leona's unique nature and the experimental substitution of Void energy for fel, there's considerable risk here. Even more so than usual.
