Rogues can sap the beasts before darting and it will prevent having to fight any as using the dart does not break stealth. Don't try to dart without sapping or the beast will attack you as if you were not stealthed.
Other classes can engage the beasts and then use the dart and it ends the fight immediately. Combat will take a few seconds to fade but the mod will just stand there and attack the air as it fades away and you can go ahead and engage another beast
