Completing this appears to also unlock Field Test: Gnomecorder.
Of course, Professor Xakxak says that he has finally had time to construct the Gnomecorder, in reality this is an indirect way of requiring you to complete Huntress Jalin's quests to free Boog the "Gear Whisperer" who you will need to talk to later in the quest chain. Not to mention setting up the whole bombing of Stonetalon that seems to be the undercurrent for all of the quests in that zone.

It's quest text like this that makes me glad I actually took the time to read it. Although most of the new quests usually have funny dialogue in them, I think quests like these help you immerse yourself a lot better.

For the Alliance!

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Only Way Down is in a Body BagStonetalon Mountains · Level 10-30

The skies are swarming with heavily armored orcs on the backs of even more heavily armored wind riders. Our best efforts to bring them down have thus far proven fruitless. Our arrows usually just bounce off of those foul creatures.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Hellscream's LegacyStonetalon Mountains · Level 10-30

Enter Stonetalon Mountains through Talondeep Pass and head towards the smoldering trees. Seek out the Krom'gar incinerators that are destroying the forest and slay as many as you can! Be warned, the incinerators are powerful orcs.
