Other people might have more or different luck than I did, but the drop rate for the venom was abysmal to the point of being nonexistent on the noxious shredders. Unless you want to kill them for the sake of killing them, skip those and just kill the darkfang creepers. It will still be plenty grindy, but it drops enough that you won't be wondering if the quest is broken. :-)
You can easily complete lore master without this quest. Just dont bother doing this quest at all.

Description
If there's one thing you can count on Apprentice Morlann to do, it's whine about reagents. Normally, I just ignore him, and it never works. This time, I'm going to try something different. Maybe if I replace the missing reagents before he notices, he'll leave me alone. The most common reagent we both use is marsh venom, which comes from the darkfang creepers and noxious shredders in the marsh north of the farm. If you bring me the venom, I'll replace it before Morlann notices it's gone.
