The kid you need to talk to is on the western side of the Argent Tournament grounds.

Defeating the Argent Champion is really not much different than defeating the Valiants in the previous series of dailies. The only thing I noticed is that the Argent Champions seem to refresh their Defend faster than the Valiants do.

Two things they don't tell you about defeating the champion:

1. You have to stay in the arena. Your opponent isn't obligated to do so. If he runs and you chase him too far outside the ring, you'll get a message that you must stay inside the tournament grounds. If you don't go back right away, you get dismounted and lose the fight. Of course, he gets to shield break and charge your back while you run back to the ring. I had to keep walking backward during melee and lure him away from the edges of the ring.

2. There is a time limit. If you take too long to defeat him (even if he's on his last couple of hit points, grrr), he will say something like "This fight has taken too long, you are not ready to be a champion."

I finally defeated him after 4 or 5 attempts by keeping my shield stacked at 3, staying in melee range and thrusting. The general advice is to avoid charging him, but I tried that and ran out of time. I found by practicing on a charging dummy that if you jump during the charge, the huge loop you make at the end is MUCH easier to control, and you can even shield break him before you get back into thrusting range. Don't let him get far enough away to charge you.

Kiting back to the center of the ring during melee is essential. This is the thing I kept missing when first attempting this. Don't bother with charging. Just toss a shield breaker when he turns his back on you, then close to melee, and start kiting him back to the ring center again.

  • A Blade Fit For A ChampionLevel 25-30

Good, honest, honed steel may not carry the day. The other combatants are using enchanted blades and I find myself at a disadvantage, but all is not lost. There's an old legend from Grizzly Hills about a maiden cursed with a frog's form to protect the blade she has long guarded.

  • A Worthy WeaponLevel 25-30

Of all the times to have such rotten luck! My blade is missing! I've heard the bards telling tales of travelers offering winter hyacinths to a lonely maiden in return for gifts.
