The trick is to wait and just melee (keeping even damage with each other) and wait until the champion shows their back to you, and moves off to do a charge, at which point you start spamming the charge button, so you get the charge in first, before they can turn around to do the same. As soon as you start to charge start spamming the melee button. As the two abilities don't share a cooldown, you can get a charge/melee combo hitting at the same time for extra damage. Then as you're wheeling round as tight as possible, after the follow through from the charge, start spamming shield breaker, and if you're lucky, you might get one off before you're back into melee range, and back trading blows, waiting for the champion to turn their back to you again (and of course they may be down 2 shields while you're doing this).
I did this and the fight was over very quickly, so I finished on 41,000 out of 50,000 health. Just remember to keep your shields up, as when you're wheeling round after your charge, you may get hit by the champion's own charge or shield breaker (if you're really good you can turn the right way after the charge that they're facing the wrong way to do this, but it's not necessary, and won't always work anyway).

Description
You are nearly ready to compete in the grand melee. To prove yourself worthy of this honor, you must defeat a champion of the Argent Crusade. Go to the stables outside the pavilion, equip your lance, and mount up. Speak to Squire Danny at the Argent Valiants' Ring on the western edge of the grounds. The squire will call out your opponent when you're ready. After the battle is concluded, we will speak of the outcome.
