Do you need to be a certain item level to defeat him? Can you have someone help you? I am having problems with this quest and any help at all would be appreciated

I am having the same problem. Not sure where to go from here.
Eitrigg drops red swirling zones called Blood Ravager which can cut you down fairly quickly, and he enrages several times. Once I pulled him out of his building it was much easier to see and avoid the Blood Ravagers. He does leash, so be careful not to pull him too far. That should help most people get him down; if you can dispel Enrage effects you should have an easier time of it.

What to do
Description
There is a difference between loyalty and blind obedience. I am done following the Banshee's orders!
Where to go
Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Saurfang has shown his true colors and now enlists the aid of the Alliance. Meet with those who have remained loyal to the Horde. They are to ready themselves for the battle against our enemies. And as for Eitrigg... bring him to Nathanos. A quick death is too lenient a punishment for his treachery.
After this quest

- Siegebreakers
The fools who follow Saurfang have grown bold enough to launch a direct assault. We cannot allow these pests to swarm before our gates. Our operatives are collapsing the pass between Razor Hill and Orgrimmar as we speak. Saurfang's treasonous forces will be cut in half.
