For those that are looking for him. There is a small pathway at the lake. 65,77 should be where u start looking. Don't try to scale the mountain, because he isn't at the top. Looked for nearly an hour before finding the dirt path.

Your initial quests involve filling your Stables with six (6) special mounts. Alliance quests are listed with the Horde quests linked with a '+'.

Taming a Talbuk (+)
Capturing a Clefthoof (+)
Besting a Boar (+)
Requisition a Riverbeast (+)
Entangling an Elekk (+)
Wrangling a Wolf (+)

With each new acquisition, you're then asked to further its training with some / all of the following series of quests.

The main trick to fighting this guy is avoid the large swipes he does. Not so much an issue on the wolf but is a bit harder on some of the other mounts. I suggest running straight through him to avoid them.

Description

I've got one last challenge for ye, commander, but if it isn't a doozy. They call them the garn. Wolves as black as night, and twice the size of a normal wolf, they can tear a man apart in seconds. Any beast in their right mind would be scared witless at the sight of such a predator. There's a lone garn that's made it from their usual home in Frostfire, all the way over to Nagrand. Take your wolf, mount up, and bring it down. If the two of you survive, your wolf will truly be ready.
