Do not leave the vehicle early(!) when Khadgar says "Fine work. Hold though..." before the rest of the dialogue/NPC interactions play out or you'll have to shoot down the wave of primalists all over again.

Learned this the hard way.

There are 3 waves of this, all the same thing. I thought I was doing something wrong because he kept repeating himself, but no - stay on the gun, get through the waves and it will knock you out automatically when it's done.
