Windstrike

[spell=114049] version of [spell=17364]

A few notes about this spell:

- You cannot use it until you gain the ascendance ability at level 87.

- When ascendance is active, any marcro with "/cast stormstrike" will automatically cast Stormblast. You do not need to rewrite anything, thankfully.

- Stormblast does NOT currently share a CD with Stormstrike, which means that as enhancement shaman you can use this combo:

PvP Trinket & DPS CDs > Stormstrike > Ascendance > Stormblast

You can do some major burst in a span of about 3 sec (2 GCDs).

This is very obscure I know but it might save somebody some hassle:

Ever since we have had Stormblast, there has been a bug in the WoW API. It is relevant to addon and macro programmers.

To display a spell texture (aka icon) we usually use something like myFrame.spellTexture:SetTexture(GetSpellTexture(spellName)). It will cause a nil/blank icon to be displayed for Stormblast. Instead use myFrame.spellTexture:SetTexture(GetSpellTexture(115356)). Hardcode the spell ID and you will be fine. Don't bother experimenting with other spell IDs you might find on Wowhead, for example Windstrike or [spell=115360]. You have come to the right place here!

I know we do and should vote down people for bad information. This one is difficult to check up on. You are going to have to trust me on this one.

Edit: Various errors for this as well as Stormstrike. For range checking, for example, just substitute a different spell with the same range. Several minor patch releases and no fix. I will delete/edit this post if and when these fixes are made. (I am an addon author).

Edit: I call it a "bug" above and will leave as is, but I understand why Blizz did it this way and I almost agree. Just a hassle for some players I guess in working around this deliberate design decision.
