Hate to nitpick but actually you can wipe up to 5 times, not less than 5. Unsuccessful attempts are tracked in the instance; first wipe takes them down from 50 to 49.
49, 48, 47, 46, 45. That's five wipes and you still meet the criteria "at least 45 attempts remaining".
