If you start in "Meredil", go over the bridge at the flight point and then go to the right, go up the hill to south and cross the way to a ruin, there you will find Mal'Dreth the Corruptor.

He is easy enough to solo, takes a bit longer than other rares. I am a weak survival hunter and easily solo'd him. He runs to the 5 crystals located around him and they then become target-able to kill too, I destroyed the first one but their shadow damage doesn't hurt all that much. The hardest hits on me were from fel beam shadow damage. Like someone else mentioned, he is above, not in any cave. For me he dropped 70 [currency=1220] and [item=140386]
