A Promising Start

A Promising Start is a quest for level 25-30 in Netherstorm. It is step 93 of 103 in the Netherstorm storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Netherstorm at 71.2, 35.1. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

We've come here to investigate rumors of a strange breed of dragons, perhaps even descendents of Deathwing himself. These are clearly not ordinary black dragons, though.

We'll know more once we've had a chance to examine their eggs. Their hatred for my flight runs deep, so I can't get close enough to gather the eggs. Will you agree to help?

Neutral with Netherwing or not, this quest is very easy considering your expectations after doing the fel reaver parts and other collect quests in this zone. Most of the eggs have a rapid respawn, are unguarded, and come 2 or 3 within a 10 yard cluster.

I also love it how 2 or 3 eggs spawn right next to the quest giver.. lazy girl!

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

  • Formal IntroductionsNetherstorm · Level 25-30

Greetings, <name>. Do not be alarmed. This is merely a projection of my current form. It's the only way my companion and I could keep watch without revealing ourselves. The ethereal who approached you, Marid, is little better than a swindler in the guise of a legitimate merchant.

After this quest

  • Troublesome DistractionsNetherstorm · Level 25-30

Your former employer, Wind Trader Marid, must've gotten wind that you're helping us now. Through my projection, I've seen his nether-stalkers entering the area, hoping to track us down. We've been able to evade them so far, but Marid must be dealt with before the problem grows more severe.
