Alright, I was able to test it today on normal mode. The skip lets you open the bridge to Smolderon after Igira without doing the sidewings. This means that a skip run will still have to kill Gnarlroot, Igira, Smolderon, Tindral and Fyrakk.
LOL, I FINALLY do this on LFR today, get the fragment for Essence-of-a-broken-dream to go turn inI get this along with The Power of Dreams, but the Broken Dream quest is for Mythic. That escalated quickly since i am far from a regular raider any more.

Description
Smolderon appears to be aiding Fyrakk's assault on the Dream! If you collect some fragments of Emberscar, his legendary weapon, we may be able to attune with his energy and assault his throne directly.
Getting there
Inside the raid: Amirdrassil, the Dream's Hope
Having been carefully nurtured within the Emerald Dream, Amirdrassil is preparing to bloom and cross into Azeroth. But the fate of the new World Tree cannot be secured until Azeroth's champions come together to face Fyrakk and his molten allies, before he devours the heart of Amirdrassil and bathes the world in flame.
