TheWoWDBMake sure you have Atticus spawned. I previously had Chordy spawned and made it all the way to Tabitha in Ardenweald where she wouldn't speak to me. Just speak to Chordy to dismiss him and then spawn Atticus.

I found the Otherworldly egg by going to /way 47.34, 20.71 (Ardenweald) and where a big gorm called Izik the Dissolver came up the ground, kill it and loot the egg.

Quest may say recruiting Atticus is "optional", but it is not. Tabithia won't talk to you unless you have him out.
