Colossal Menace

Colossal Menace is a quest for level 10-30 in Hellfire Peninsula. It is step 100 of 103 in the Hellfire Peninsula storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Hellfire Peninsula at 15.6, 52.0. It rewards 2 reward items, 1 reputation reward, 5,150 experience and money.

Description

You see that huge red crystal to the north? It fell from the sky not long ago, causing a massive earthquake.

When we came out here to investigate the disturbance, we found all of these colossi wandering about that weren't previously here.

There's definitely something strange about that crystal and the energies that it's emanating, but I don't have time for that. Those mountain giants are my immediate concern.

I want you to head up to Fallen Sky Ridge and deal with them.

Coords: (18.40) and surrounding area.

Suggested group: 3 people although it can be done with 2. Perfect group: tank, healer, dps

These mobs summon non-elite adds (up to 3) as their health drops down. Once they are dead, they can be looted again with mining skill.

Take care with agroing more mobs, move your target away from the area, since these elites wander around, and also Fel Reavers

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Keep Thornfang Hill Clear!Hellfire Peninsula · Level 10-30

We've been fighting an ongoing battle to keep the pass through Thornfang Hill to the west clear of ravagers. It would be bad if we were to become completely cut off from the refuge in Zangarmarsh.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Crimson Crystal ClueHellfire Peninsula · Level 10-30

As the colossus falls under the weight of your attacks, you notice for the first time that it was holding a red crystal fragment. While it was small and unnoticeable in the mountain giant's hand, it's a fairly hefty piece for you to carry around.
