Cleansing the Waters

Cleansing the Waters is an Alliance-only quest for level 10-30 in Hellfire Peninsula. It is step 95 of 103 in the Hellfire Peninsula storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Hellfire Peninsula at 23.4, 36.5. It rewards 3 reward items, 1 reputation reward and 4,100 experience. Completing it counts toward 1 achievement.

Description

I must ask that you finish what we've set in motion. Now that the demonic influence has weakened you must take this cleansing vial and pour it at the very source of the taint - Aggonar's own corpse.

You will find the demon's bones at the northern end of the pools. Beware, I sense that Aggonar's essence has not quite left this world.

North-west part of the Pools of Aggonar is a giant demonic skeleton. You can even see the skeleton on your mini-map. At the foot of the ribcage, while standing near poisoned waters, use your cleansing vial and Aggonar will appear. Defeat him and return to the Temple of Telhamat.

I was standing at the front of his rib cage and on land when I did it.

40,30 there is a burned spot on the ground just at the end of the hammer hilt, stand there, right click the vial and move back! mob spawns there and you have to kill it. I'd clear the surrounding mobs first though

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • The Pools of AggonarHellfire Peninsula · Level 10-30

Much has changed since the days when we called this land Draenor. Parts of the land have been forever changed by the demons' taint. One such place is known as the Pools of Aggonar. It was once the location of our people's sacred springs.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • An Ambitious PlanHellfire Peninsula · Level 10-30

The blood elves epitomize the irresponsible use of magic, <class>. They do not control magical energy. Rather, they are slaves to it and will suffer nothing to stand between them and their addiction. They consume the energies of Outland's voidwalkers to power their demonic magics.
