If you lose your cover during the (easy) fight, fear not: you can make it up again by killing mobs for the 3 pieces, like you did at the beginning, then creating the disguise.
So I had lost this quest early in the expansion when lots of quests were filling my bags. Using the garrison troubleshooter guide I found this partially completed quest. Here are my abbreviated notes on completing this questline.
1. Don't panic - you've used the guide above and discovered a lost chain you gave up on.
2. If you fly into Socrethar's Rise and go to the quest giver Anchorite Laanda he is inside the building at 45,80 with no quest for you.
3. Kill a few of the mobs outside and get your disguise back - 3 pieces are all you need, they drop quickly.
4. Laanda then appears outside the front of the building with this quest available.
5. Go and kill Invokaz and return to the same spot for the next quest.
6. This takes you inside the building (enter from around the back on a balcony) and wait for the RP and kill Soulbinder Zamaya who aggros to you.
7. Final quest off of Laanda returns you to your garry where Kadghar's servant has the hand in (see screenshot).Good luck, and if you've lost the questline on any other garrison campaign use the great article above to pick up the exact one.

Description
Time is running out, {name}. The Sargerei have opened a summoning portal on the hill to the west. I believe they are going to use this portal to bring an army of demons here, to Shadowmoon Valley. We must stop them before this happens, no matter what the cost. Use this arcane bomb to destroy the portal. We may blow our cover, but stopping the portal is more important right now.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits
Before this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Shattering the Enemy
While you carry out the pretense of obeying Zamaya's orders, we're going to sabotage the Sargerei under their very noses. All around this village, you can find Felstorm Crystals. The enemy uses these objects to magnify their power. Destroy these crystals, and we'll slow their operations.
After this quest
Taken from the storyline's own step order.
- Socrethar's Fury
<Upon opening the scroll, you find a message from Anchorite Laanda.> I write this message hastily. I've been discovered. I'm being taken in front of Socrethar. You must carry on our mission. I've learned that Soulbinder Zamaya holds a detailed plan of Socrethar's next attack.
