To get a Gormling in a Bag, first go to the area at 65, 38 and click on a Gormling on the Ground. This creates an object "Gormling in a Bag" in your inventory. Then go out of this area just to the south. The Wayward Gormlings look like the ones you just saw but have the name "Wayward Gormling" and are to the south, up in trees or other objects. If you have it enabled, they will be glowing and outlined. A couple are close, but more are farther south. Use your Gormling in a Bag ability from the object you created and target the Wayward Gormling. This will knock it down to the ground. Then click on the Wayward Gormling on the ground to collect it.

I had a problem completing Gormling Toss: Tranquil Pools. I'd toss a [item=181284] at the location of a [npc=168254], but it would not knock them down to be bagged. I noticed I had the quest Doing the Dew (Anima conductor quest for [order-advancement=1246]) which overlapped the same area. after completing Doing the Dew I returned to the tranquil pools and had 0 issues knocking down [npc=168254]. Could be a coincidence but it helped me incase anyone else has this issue.
Wayward Gormlings like to wriggle around.
I've seen some folks, whose reflexes might not be so good (there are a number of reasons why that may be), take a minute or two to click one.
Assuming you have keybound "Interact With Target", there's an easy way to make this a non issue.1. (If you haven't already) Keybind "Interact With Target). Quick steps:
- Esc -> Key Bindings -> Targeting (on the left) -> (in the middle, scroll down to) Interact With Target ->
- [Click the button to the right of "Interact With Target" and then an unused button on your keyboard (the backslash "\", underneath the "Backspace" key - on a typical keyboard, works for me.]
2. Select a Wayward Gormling BEFORE you throw a Gormling in a Bag (others have said where you get that / those) at it.
3. Hit the key, that you bound "Interact With Target" to, and (assuming you are beside the Wayward Gormling that you knocked down) you won't even have to click it.If you're new to using "Interact With Target", it's one of the most obvious but useful things you can do for yourself. If people are crowding an NPC, for instance, you can type
/tar [npc name]
(obviously, put a name instead of "[npc name]"), then hit your bound key and away go your worries. You'll have selected and interacted with that NPC and no enlarged mount will have stopped you. That shouldn't be a problem anyway, but it's good to know. There are lots of uses for that keybind.
