TheWoWDBEarly on, keep the plant Sunflowers on cooldown till you have about 3 made. By then you should be dealing with about 3 Zombies. Rocknuts are your friend (and cheap!), build a few to hold them off.
Next is planting Spitters in the rows where the Zombies spawned once you have enough Sunpower.
Start planting more Sunflowers, the key to winning is making two full rows of Sunflowers.
Balance making Sunflowers with a full row of Spitters and one row of Freezya's. You can even toss in a row of Rocknuts to be safe (Sunpower allowing).- Strangler Vine's are a bit too expensive and are really not needed, try to avoid planting them early on. However, you can toss in a few just to burn off extra Sunpower!
Your next order of business is stockpiling Sunpower, to keep Pumpkin Bombs on cooldown, but also to replace Plants destroyed by Warden Stillwater's Blight.
4-5 Pumpkin bombs should win the game

Some of the strats on here are very helpful, I used a little from a few of them.
I went with 2 rows of Sunflowers, used some Rocknuts to hold off some of the zombies while I collected enough Sun to put down some Shooters.
Once I had about a row of shooters I put down some Tentacles and blocked off a few of the harder zombies with Rocknuts.
By the time the boss appeared the Sun power was dropping quite fast, I just had keep Tentacles and Sunflowers up while waiting for the Pumpkin Bomb to come off cooldown.
