TheWoWDBI completed the quest at the same time as one of the Excavation Events and got the message "Legacy of the Vrykul failed" which left the completion at 100% but it did not clear the quest. What fixed it was hearthing and then coming back to the Isle. Probably just a first day bug but thought I would post here in case anyone else has the same issue.

Relogging gave me completion of the event but didn't award me the gem, nor can I purchase it from the vendors.
