I completed the quest at the same time as one of the Excavation Events and got the message "Legacy of the Vrykul failed" which left the completion at 100% but it did not clear the quest. What fixed it was hearthing and then coming back to the Isle. Probably just a first day bug but thought I would post here in case anyone else has the same issue.
If your quest progress is stuck at 100%, log out and back in and it should complete automatically.
Had the issue of being stuck at 100%
Relogging gave me completion of the event but didn't award me the gem, nor can I purchase it from the vendors.
Great.

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
