I've done this on multiple higher level characters to obtain the [item=25608] (Horde) or [item=25603] (Alliance) for xmog. I was surprised by the lack of information out there on how to start and complete this quest chain, so I put together my strategy for others to use.

For Horde:

  1. The Impotent Leader

  2. Don't Kill the Fat One: I actually really enjoyed the challenge of this quest as a higher level character. We're always killing things but how often are you told NOT to kill something? To complete this quest at level 100 you must do one of the falling: (a.) The easiest way is to recruit a lower level character to help you beat down [npc=18262] without killing him. You can usually find someone running around the area. Offer to help them kill Ogres if they will help you NOT kill [npc=18262] and it will be a win-win. (b.) Or acquire [item=18588], which can be crafted by engineers, but does not require engineering to use. Purchase one from the AH or you can get 5 as a reward from the quest Shizz Work from the chain beginning with Outland Sucks! in Hellfire Peninsula (don't worry, it's short and easy and there are no other prerequisites other than level). Remove all of your armor so there is nothing to proc or add damage. Run up to [npc=18262], toss an [item=18588] at him which should leave a sliver of health, and you're done!

  3. Success!

  4. Because Kilrath is a Coward

  5. Message in a Battle

  6. An Audacious Advance

  7. Diplomatic Measures

  8. Armaments for Deception +++ Ruthless Cunning

  9. Returning the Favor +++ Body of Evidence

Description

<Lantresor points to an unmarked crate.> Take it. It is my offering to your people. You have single-handedly saved my clan from extermination. You may tell your leader that Lantresor of the Burning Blade and his Boulderfist ogres accept the offering of peace. <Lantresor bows.>

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.
