Doing this quest when you are usually just there to play PvE will make you hate the opposing faction, your own faction, and pretty much every living player in your vicinity with a passion. It really seems to bring out the 'They don't fight back, so they're a free kill' mentality in people.
Edit: another fun fact: The only time this post seems to get upvotes is whenever this world quest is active. :D

For those of you that may be new to this world quest or not familiar with how it goes - here is a small bit of information.
While this world quest is active, mobs that are part of this objective area will drop Timeworn Artifacts. When you loot the artifacts, [spell=220069] will be automatically pinned on you.
Once this buff is on you - anyone can see the loot bag icon over your head even if you are stealthed!
Since this area is a free for all pvp section during the WQ, members of both factions will see that swirly gold loot bag over your head. Any sort of stealth (from what Ive seen so far) will not hide that icon.
*Note: Shoalfin Warriors do not count towards WQ progression bar atm but will still drop artifacts
What is the purpose of those artifacts?
- The first one you pick up will start this quest: Timeworn Artifact and from then on you are able to turn in artifacts to [npc=110472] in return for honor. The honor he rewards goes towards your honor level. You can farm and turn in artifacts for as long as the world quest is active.
Overall its a fun world quest and it can make you think on your feet at times. Do you hoard a bunch of artifacts and then turn in? Or do you farm group by group and turn in so you dont lose as many artifacts? Do you leave others be that are doing the same objective as you or go full out on farming them for honor AND artifacts? :)
Edit: Completing this WQ 20 times will reward Mission Accomplished that is part of a meta achievement - Free For All, More For Me . The other free for all pvp areas (Darkbrul, Black Rook & Bareback Brawl) also require completion of 20 times. It rewards [item=129280] for Alliance and [item=143864] for Horde.
The best part? Completion of these are retroactive! So if you had already done some of these WQs before this was implemented it should already be counted towards your progression.
You can turn into a murloc by clicking the big white pearl in the middle.
