Officially it's 7.5k into honored. Also I STRONGLY recommend you do this quest line during the nighttime hours it will make it much more "awesome" feeling. I kind of wish I had waited.
After 9 years of playing WoW, this quest chain is in my opinion one of the most fun and creative ever. You don't have to kill a kazillion vicious mobs to finish it and it is unlike any other quest chain.
