I was wondering if whether or not this was a one-time opportunity to get any of this gear so I did a little more investigating.
It appears, as a leatherworker I will be able to make both my smock at level 5 and my Alchemist's Hat at level 10 with the same stats. I also found out I will eventually be able to make both with better secondary stats further down the line.
Since I don't care about a small 4 point bump in fishing, that leaves the cooking hat which is made by a tailor; which I am not.
It is a lot easier to make a choice if you know all the facts. You might want to find out which professional makes your hats before you decide which to get from this quest.
