Setting Up the Bomb (Alliance)

Setting Up the Bomb is an Alliance-only quest for level 25-30 in Shadowmoon Valley. It is step 11 of 147 in the Shadowmoon Valley storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Shadowmoon Valley at 39.5, 53.7. It rewards 4,100 experience and money.

Description

We cannot permit the Legion to carry out its plan to destroy Wildhammer Stronghold on their march to the Black Temple.

There's only one way to stop them, <name>. You must create an explosive large enough to destroy the Legion's entire stockpile of infernals at the hold.

The Fetid Pool near Legion Hold holds an old fel reaver power core you could use as the base of your device. Search the other wreckage near the fel reaver for armor plating we might be able to make a casing from.

Where to go

Pins are the quest’s own POI points from the current retail client, projected onto the in-game zone map. The game marks one blob as the quest’s turn-in; the rest are objective areas. Points that fall outside a map’s window are dropped rather than guessed at.

Where this quest fits

Before this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • To Legion HoldShadowmoon Valley · Level 25-30

The fortress of Legion Hold is nigh impregnable, and to be completely honest, I can't spare the forces for an assault. Our hopes are riding on you, <name>. What little information we've been able to gather indicates that the Legion stocks and prepares its infernals at the hold.

After this quest

Taken from the storyline's own step order.

  • Blast the Infernals!Shadowmoon Valley · Level 25-30

The device we've assembled won't win any beauty contests, but it should be capable of destroying the infernals amassed at Legion Hold. Judging from what the fel reaver power core's energy did to the Fetid Pool, it holds a respectable amount of explosive power.
