The starting quest for a Blacksmithing 'catch up' mechanism, similar to what was implemented for cooking at the start of Mists. Hopefully this is the first of many such additions, although I wouldn't be surprised if Blacksmithing was added first because Blizzard thought it was somewhat under-represented compared to other professions.
Edit: I missed out two very important words: 'for cooking'.

Yes it is live, you can get the quest from Cullen Hammerbrow at the Shrine of Seven Stars for the Alliance.
@ Metabii - They are implementing something similar to this in patch 5.3. You will be able to lvl from 1-600 by just mining Ghost Ore

Description
While it is best to learn the properties of simpler metals and work your way up, it is possible to learn how to become a good blacksmith through mastering the various applications of ghost iron for common household objects. If you wish to take this path towards becoming a zen master blacksmith, I can teach you. Whichever way you choose, you will have my respect if you can show me that you can make a ghostly skeleton key.
