The Torch of Strength

This quest is a quick way to get exalted with the Sha of Anger.

How to do this quest:

It took me about a billion tries to figure it all out, but there is a predictable and mostly safe path you can take. Once you have the path, it's mostly cake.

The route is split into four parts. Part one is the easiest, but I'll give my route for all of it.

READ ALL OF IT. There are rest areas between each part except for part 3 and part 4, so make sure you understand what to do at part 4.

Part 1: Gentle Slope

1. Grab your torch. Stay on the pagoda steps, and move to the extreme right. When the path is clear on the RIGHT, move forward, hugging right, up and over the hill.

1.a) On the way, you'll pass a fast tornado that follows the path up and down. If you know where it is, you'll know when it's safe to cross. Remember that it can come up behind you.

2. After the hill, cross the path to the LEFT side when it is safe (see 1.a)). Avoid the slow tornado going left and right, and move to the building. Move along the outside of the building for the next part.

Part 2: Steep Hill

The key to this one is to stay outside the chain. I think this is harder for big avatars (i.e. easier for gnomes than tauren) but even a big Draenai can do this.

3. Starting OUTSIDE the chain, on the LEFT side, go all the way up the hill. You can probably come back inside at the third-last post or later. Remember there's at least two tornadoes coming up behind you, but the most important ones are the ones going left to right. Continue hugging left until you're on the stairs. Go through the building and get ready for part 3.

Part 3: Bridge

There are three lanes. You need to wait until the center lane is halfway staggered with the left lane (the left tornado will already be halfway down by the time the center tornado reaches the top).

4. Start when the CENTER tornado leaves the closest part of the bridge. Follow the CENTER tornado. After the LEFT tornado has passed you on its way down, switch lanes to the LEFT lane.

4.a) How much time and space you have from switching between center and left lanes depends on how perfectly the lanes were staggered. Once you have switched to left lane, you may have a great deal of time (say, 10+ seconds) or only a few seconds before you MUST move to phase 4, depending on how it was staggered. I don't recommend waiting too long.

Part 4: Flat area and stairs

5. When you get to the top of the bridge, STOP at the gold line. There are two tornadoes in front of you. Wait until they are both passing you to the RIGHT, then move LEFT, hugging the left wall, as fast as you can.

5.a) REMEMBER: You have left-lane tornado from part 3 coming up behind you, center-lane tornado possibly beside you, and two tornadoes in front of you. If you don't move fast enough, either the center-lane will come up and hit you, or the first one going left and right will bounce and hit you from the right side before you're clear.

6. After you have made it past the two tornadoes, continue in a circle, hugging the wall to the LEFT, keeping an eye out for stray tornadoes. You will pass a small staircase. Cross it, climbing over the railing. Then climb over the railing of the big staircase, and turn left, going up the staircase.

Click the big fire at the end. MAKE CERTAIN YOU HAVE THE QUEST COMPLETE since if other people complete it at the same time, you might THINK you have it finished but only THEY actually got the complete.

Fly back down to the quest giver and finish your quest.

While the tornadoes move predictably, you can't predict when you're going to get across the last bridge and the torch is randomly going to get blown out by nothing - no tornado, no wind wall, nothing.

So yeah, Blizzard can take this quest and stuff it. I'll just take a little longer to get exalted with the August Celestials.
