The Tortusk Takedown

The Tortusk Takedown is a Horde-only quest for level 5-30 in Northern Barrens. It is step 7 of 62 in the Northern Barrens storyline. The quest's turn-in marker is in Northern Barrens at 56.6, 40.3. It rewards 4 reward items, 5,150 experience and money.

Description

In the wake of the chaos down south, this "Tortusk" brute seems to have rallied all of the Razormane refugees to his banner. Under his leadership, he's turned them into little more than brigands. There's no negotiating with his type; Tortusk must be destroyed.

If our prisoner is to be believed, you'll find Tortusk southeast of here at a place called Thorn Hill. Search the bluffs where he has a commanding view of the road. Kill him, <name>, and the immediate threat should cease.

Pretty easy to kill, just knock him off of his mount, and you'll be fine.

Thing is, he has a skill called "Quillboar Rush" which knocks you back. Just kite him around, clearing the area first, and he'll be an easy solo.

Hope this helps.

P.S. - Rooting abilities make this extremely easy for any casters.

I killed his raptor and then died cuz i didnt clear out the area. When i got back the one that i was attacking was still there and there was another one of him that was on his mount ( the respawn one). After letting the one on the mount pass i moved my original to the space between the thorn and that little half wall thing. I didnt get any other guys on me either. I also got the credit too. At the end i just ran out, and straight back to the quest giver. I got about 5 guys on me but they weren't able to kill me.

I suppose he'll come around with some cold water to the face. What do you think he'll tell us? I'll secure him inside our livestock pen behind me here. I don't think he'll stay conscious long. Find out what you can about why the quilboar are attacking our farms!

Friend, if you are traveling south to Thorn Hill, I was wondering if you could locate one of our missing kodos? Not every caravan has made it up the pass from Far Watch Post. Those Razormane brutes hijacked a pack animal yesterday morning.
